Think before you post online. As easy as it is to place something on social media, so hard is it to get away.
Please be aware, others can save chat conversations.
Don't accept just anyone. Be selective in who you will and will not allow on your profile. Show only people you know personally. Do not be tempted by having a such a longest possible friends list. No one has 500 friends.
Make sure your profiles shielded.
Disable location services so others can't see where you are.
Use an online nickname or just your first name. Do not give telephone numbers, addresses, names of schools or companies and other recognizable places allowing people knowing who you are and where you are.
Create an anonymous email address. You can use the address if you need somewhere to register or if you have to leave an e-mail address for a response on a Web site.
Be careful with photos suggesting where you are, where you live or where you work.
Sexting can be exploited.
